Scooter-Boots is a Tuxedo cat who came to Healing HEART Sanctuary in November 2007 as a kitten. When little, Scooter-Boots had been violently shaken by a cat unfriendly dog, which broke her back. Since then she has always retained some sort of feeling in her back legs but the hope was that she could be rehabilitated completely back to normal.
Scooter-Boots made slow and steady progress, mostly slow. Unlike Fanny, another HHS cat with an “A” type personality, Scooter-Boots had no interest in making the effort. She didn’t want therapy, didn’t want to be in a cart, didn’t want to be bothered because as far as we could tell she felt there was nothing wrong with scooting. Upright walking was simply over rated. Because Scooter-Boots can not scratcher herself, her piece of heaven comes when someone gives her a good scratch…all over her body! You can wiggle your fingers from across the room and she’ll come running (well scooting very quickly) for a scratching session.
